SIBN EXCELLENCE AWARD RECIPIENT
Evangelist Sharon R. Braxton comes from a very large family and began singing at the young age of 9 years old. Even at that young age her gift as an evangelist began to show as she told all that she knew and met about the love of God and Jesus Christ.
Music is her one true passion. Over the years she has found that it truly soothes the soul especially during those trying times. Sharon has also discovered that Gospel music in its purest form brings about true repentance and helps to heal the broken hearted. It can also ignite a fire that will burn with passion for the things of God and wanting to have a deeper relationship with Him. We all have those times when we realize great truths and these were some of the great truths that she stands on yet today.
Having ministered now for over 20 years Sharon still can remember back to her first solo at age 11, “I’m Still Holding On”. It’s funny the things you remember from your childhood. Some remember a good friend, others a great sports victory, or still yet their first bike or favorite toy. Sharon remembers that during this solo she cried and the whole church was dramatically touched by the anointing of God. This was her defining moment. From that day forward she knew what she was created to do – use her great musical gift to touch lives in their deepest most quiet place.
Called as an evangelist in 1995 she later did her trail sermon in 1997 and has been preaching and teaching the word of God ever since. In January of 2010 she founded a women’s ministry called Sisters Encouraging Sisters. She is also an accomplished writer who writes poetry and plays. In August of 2012 she released the CD entitled “AWESOME”. She chose this name because it is true to her experiences in life. God has been truly an awesome influence and guide.
With all that she has accomplished Sharon is very quick to give God all the credit and glory. She is looking forward to her upcoming CD release. Her producer is Mr. Willie Jones
Truly a woman of grace and virtue she is thankful for the love and mercy of God in her life. She is also quick to acknowledge her loving and supportive family especially her husband, Dallas Braxton.
